To provide a complete overview, on top of every recipe article there is a box displaying some necessary information and some representative indices. Firstly there is the Greek name of every recipe. Then how many people could be fed as main dish with this recipe is shown as well as the necessary preparation and cooking time. Furthermore, it is marked whether the recipe is gluten free and to what type of vegetarianism pertains.
Cretan Healthy Life has developed a 3-point score system whereby every recipe receives a 1, 2, or 3 scores on 6 fields (except from vegetarianism that has 5 levels).Note that all the scores and markings are relative and depend on our own perception and understanding.
1. Vegetarianism level
Vegetarians are almost universally divided into 5 main categories or levels. Evey recipe at Cretan Healthy Life designates to which vegeterianism level pertains, as follows:
- Level 1: Flexitarians (π₯©), eating occasionaly meat.
- Level 2: Pescatarians (π), eating fish, eggs and dairy products.
- Level 3: Lacto-Ovo-vegetarians (π₯), eating eggs and dairy products.
- Level 4: Vegans (β), not eating any products derived from animals.
- Level 5: Raw Vegans (π±), eating only non-processed vegan food, not heated above 46 Β°C or 115 Β°F.
2. Ingredients score
This score shows how difficult is to obtain the necessary ingredients for executing a provided recipe outside Greece, especially in the countries of the European North.

3. Healthiness score
This is a very important score reflecting how healthy and revitilizing is the produced dish as a function of the contained ingredients and according to our own perception.

4. Preparation score
This score gives an impression of how complex is the recipe to execute accounting for the number of required steps as well as the difficulty of carrying them out.
π³: Easy to prepare!
π³π³: Relatively complicated and timely recipe.

5. Time score
This score reflects the approximate required time for executing a recipe. It accounts both for the necessary ingredient preparation, e.g., pealing, chopping etc., as well as the actual cooking.
β: Recipe is executed in less than 30 mins.
ββ: Recipe is requires between 30 and 60 mins.
βββ: Recipe requires more than 60 mins.
6. Overall score
This final score accounts mainly for the taste and healthiness of the dish according to our own perspective.

πππ: The dish is exceptional both in terms of taste and health!
